WE NEED YOU!! FOR THE MARCH & COMMEMORATION 2009

Dear Friend and Supporter,

We are seeking your support for the annual New Orleans Katrina Commemoration March/Secondline. It has been four years since the citizens of New Orleans experienced the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina and the Great Flood. For those us who have returned we have gone through many troubles. Inspite of those troubles, we are doing our best to pull together house and home.

We take this time every year to remember those we lost on Monday, August 29, 2005. The New Orleans Katrina Commemoration March/Secondline is dedicated to commemorating and honoring those lost during Hurricane Katrina and the Great Flood. We are seeking your assistance through volunteering or gracious donations toward the following items:

1.Parade Permits
2.PortaLets
3.Generator Rental
4.Sound Production Expenses (DJs, Brass Bands, Stage, Sound Engineer)
5.Police Escort Permits
6.Parade Insurance Fees
7.Flower for Levee & Commemoration Programs
8.Bottled Water/Bags of Ice
9.Flyers & Posters Promotion

Your donations are greatly needed to support our continued effort to commemorate our loved ones. We are accepting donations at any Chase Bank payable to The New Orleans Katrina Commemoration Foundation. We account for every dime received in every meeting. We do need serious volunteers for the next few weeks.

Programming will begin, as usual, at the Lower 9th Ward levee breach on the corner of Jourdan and North Galvez for name reading of those lost and healing prayers. This will be followed by the traditional Katrina March/Secondline through the streets of New Orleans to Hunter’s Field on North Claiborne and St. Bernard. Once at Hunter’s Field, we will have the commemoration program with guest speakers, spoken word artist and community members.

As always, we thank you in advance for your continued support and participation. We appreciate the hard work from the last three years. Thanks to our community for your continued love of New Orleans and for helping us rebuild our lives! We genuinely look forward to your response.

Sincerely,
Mr. D. Warren and Ms. U. Glover
